Studio portrait of 2578 Private Thomas Joseph Dixon, (alias Thomas Joseph Brennan), 56th Battalion, of Sydney, NSW. Son of Michael and Mary Brennan. An ironworker prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney with the 20th Battalion aboard HMAT Euripides (A14) on 2 November 1915. He was killed in action on 26 July 1916 in France, aged 21. He is buried in Y Farm Military Cemetery, Bois-Grenier, France.
