Description

"Stone sangar (breastworks) behind which Captain Barrie Newman (Australia) and Capt McGregor (New Zealand) sheltered on the first night on arrival at Pakistan picquet at GANGAN during shelling by Indian troops from other side of the CFL (Cease Fire Line). After notifying the Indian troops of the presence of UN Milobs (Military Observers) the Observers then erected their tent and set up a UN Sub-Station to monitor the firing and alleged violations of the Cease Fire Agreement."
