Studio portrait of NX59611 Lieutenant (Lt) Herbert Arthur Warne. Lt Warne served in the 2/33 Battalion and was killed in action on 14 October 1942 on the Kokoda Trail as his battalion attacked the Japanese forces at Templeton's Crossing. Lt Warne is burried in the Kokoda Cemetery. This portrait has been cropped from Lt Warne's wedding portrait (P05703.001).
