Informal portrait of NX70713 Lieutenant (Lt) Robert Weston Howland. Lt Howland served with the 2/33 Battalion. He died of wounds on 1 October 1943 when the battalion was in action against Japanese forces in the Ramu Valley. At the time of his death he was the battalion's Intelligence Officer.
