Description
Members of 1 Troop, A Squadron, 3 Cavalry Regiment, standing on and in front of four of the troop's M113 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) at 1 Australian Logistics Support Group (1ALSG) VungTau. The tail of the units pendant is held by Trooper D Zwart. The APCs of 1 Troop carried the last troops from Nui Dat when the Task Force was closed on 7 November 1971, when D Company, 4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (4RAR) was withdrawn to 1ALSG. 1 Troop was finally withdrawn from Vietnam when its APCs and crews sailed on HMAS Sydney leaving Vung Tau on 12 February 1972.
