Description

Aerial view of jungle in II Corps Tactical Zone (II CTZ), along the Cambodian border. The brown swath of dead vegetation has been created by the defoliant herbicide 'Agent Orange', which was used extensively on known areas of infiltration by North Vietnamese and Viet Cong troops, such as the Ho Chi Minh Trail. The purpose of agent orange was to deny enemy cover and concealment in dense terrain by defoliating trees and shrubbery.
