Crew members of an Iroquois helicopter of the 135th Assault Helicopter Company (135th AHC) prepare to take off on a mission. His role is to coordinate the 135th AHC aircraft carrying the troops, with the 'back seat' battalion commander directing from his aerial observation post. Always above the action, the C and C aircraft is frequently an opportune target for enemy fire. The armour plating at Lt Cdr Rohrsheim's shoulder slips forward to give added protection in flight. RANHFV is serving with the 135th Assault Helicopter Company (135th AHC), United States Army. Due to its integrated nature, the unit is designated an ‘experimental military unit', with the nickname EMU.
