Description
A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to the Philippines and New Guinea. An English translation of the text is attached. The leaflet takes the form of a letter supposedly written by a Japanese soldier who has surrendered to the Allied Forces. The leaflet details the consecutive losses suffered by the Japanese forces in New Guinea and the recent landing of the Americans in the Philippines. The message urges the recipient to surrender rather than to die in vain, so that he can contribute to the post-war reconstruction of Japan.
