Description

A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to Australia and New Guinea. An English translation of the text is attached. It includes two copies of the leaflet. The message urges the recipient to surrender immediately to join their 7,000 comrades in Australia rather than to die a useless death. The leaflet includes pictures depicting the daily life of Japanese prisoners of war in Australia. The leaflet introduces a summary of the general rules at a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp in Australia. The message stresses that thousands of Japanese prisoners of war from New Guinea are confident that their decisions are correct and are making every effort to train their mind and body for the future.
