Senkyô shûhô [Weekly war news, 21 January].
Description
A propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. The item is written in Japanese and was distributed to Burma, China-Hong Kong, Lingayen, San Fabian and Manila. An English translation of the text is attached. This issue is dated 22 January 1945 and reports the advance of the American forces towards Manila, the air raid on the South China coast and Formosa which saw 30 Japanese ships sunk and 87 planes destroyed, the establishment of supply lines between Burma and China and the progress of the war in Europe. There is a map of the Asia-Pacific region on the back of the leaflet.
