Studio portrait of 1235 Private (Pte) Job Sheldon, 34th Battalion. A 19 year old wheeler of New Lambton, NSW, prior to enlistment, he embarked as a member of D Company on 2 May 1916 aboard HMAT Hororata (A20). Pte Sheldon was killed in action on 12 October 1917 during the Battle of Passchendaele. He has no known grave and his name is inscribed on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial Belgium.
