Description

Studio portrait of 755 Private (Pte) George Davies, (left), and 772 Pte Fredrick Fredrickson, both members of C Company, 35th Battalion which embarked on HMAT Benalla (A24) on 1 May 1916. Pte Davies, of The Junction, NSW was a pipesetter prior to enlistment; he was killed in action on 12 October 1917 in Belgium during fighting at Passchendaele. Pte Fredrickson, a labourer of Retreat Station, Mungundi, NSW, prior to enlistment, was killed in action on 9 June 1917, aged 27.
