Studio portrait of 351 Lance Corporal (LCpl)Frederick Walter Ball, 30th Battalion, of Boolaroo, NSW. A locomotive fireman with the NSW Government Railways prior to enlistment, he embarked with B Company on HMAT Beltana on 9 November 1915. LCpl Ball was killed in action on 23 October 1917 in Ypres, Belgium.
