Informal portrait of members of the Imlay family. Identified, left to right: Edith Imlay (wife of Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Peter Imlay), Norman George Imlay and Staff Nurse Ellen Imlay, 1st Australian General Hospital. Norman Imlay enlisted on 8 October 1915 and was later promoted to captain. He was awarded the Military Cross on 9 May 1917 and returned to Australia on 25 September 1919. He died in 1923. Staff Nurse Ellen Imlay enlisted on 18 April 1915 and embarked from Sydney, NSW aboard HMAT Kyarra on 13 April 1915. She returned to Australia on 7 February 1919.
