Description
A propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. The item is written in Japanese and was distributed to Melanesia and New Guinea. An English translation of the text is attached. A copy of the wrong issue (No.8) is numbered J78, together with the English translation of the text of the 9th issue. Issue No. 9 reports a banquet given by Prime Minister Tojo to the envoy from China, the first anniversary of the landing of Japanese troops in New Guinea, food shortages in Japan, the defeat of the Japanese Navy in the Solomon Islands as well as the defeats of the Axis countries in Africa, Russia and Europe.
