Vietnamese civilians preparing to do some painting and refurbishment before starting medical work at Le Loi hospital. Identified Australian members of the Australian civilian surgical team are Julie Cearns (pathology technician) in pale blue gown and Dr Judith Ross in the foreground. More than 450 civilian medical and surgical staff volunteered to work in hospitals in Vietnam to instruct and teach Vietnamese medical and paramedical personnel and provide medical aid to anyone who required it. From the collection of Dr Tom Hugh, a member of the Prince Henry and Prince of Wales hospital team.
