Informal portrait of NX70203 Lieutenant (Lt) Monteith Cowper (Monty) Wood, 2/13 Battalion, of Sydney, NSW and originally of Talwood, Qld. Lt Wood enlisted on 30 May 1940. On the night of 16-17 August Lt Wood went missing while on patrol from Post R11 at Tobruk. He was aged 22 years at the time of his death. His name is recorded on the Alamein Memorial.
