Studio portrait of 3205 Signaller Private (later Private) Stanley James Minett, 28th Battalion of Guilford, WA. Son of William Minett and brother of Blanche Evelyn Minett. A locomotive fireman prior to enlisting, he embarked from Fremantle aboard HMAT Medic (A7) on 18 January 1916. He was killed in action on 29 July 1916, at Pozieres, France, aged 23. He has no known grave, and is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
