Studio portrait of 2402 Private James Mullins, 20th Battalion, of Redfern, NSW. Son of Michael and Joanna Mullins. A builder's labourer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Ballarat (A70) on 6 September 1915. He died at No 3 Casualty Clearing Station, France on 6 August 1916 from wounds received in action, aged 28. He is buried in Puchevillers British Cemetery, France.
