Studio portrait of 2640 Private Leo Manusu, 4th Battalion, of Gulgong, NSW. Son of Christopher Baldwin Manusu and Annie Manusu. A baker prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Runic (A54) on 9 August 1915. He was killed in action at Pozieres, France on 24 July 1916, aged 22. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
