Studio portrait of 3784 Private John Kilgour, 15th Battalion, of Cordalba via Childers, Qld. Son of Andrew and Mary Ann Kilgour, brother of 2684B Private Samuel George Kilgour. A labourer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Suffolk (A23) on 30 November 1915. He was killed in action in France on 27 August 1916, aged 22. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
