British troops advance on a rocky kopje (small hill), many soldiers lay among the rocks and are attended by their comrades. This is probably a staged scene. The original caption reads 'Methuens gallant infantry storming a kopje at Gras Pan, South Africa.' This is a stereo image. One half is held at P05524.019.
