Studio portrait of 3985 Private (Pte) Augustus Sadler, 13th Battalion of Waterloo, NSW. A boxmaker prior to enlistment he embarked from Sydney with the 12th Reinforcements aboard HMAT Mooltan on 11 December 1915. Pte Sadler was killed in action on 30 August 1916. He has no known grave and his name is recorded on the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France.
