Studio portrait of 3007 Private (Pte) William John McInerney, 6th Battalion, later transferred to the 59th Battalion, of Mordialloc, Vic. A driver prior to enlistment he embarked with the 10th Reinforcements a board RMS Osterley on 29 September 1915. Pte McInerney was reported missing and killed in action on 19 July 1916, aged 20. He has no known grave and his name is recorded on the V.C. Corner Memorial, Fromelles, France.
