History / Summary
During the Vietnam War Qantas Boeing 707 jets and crews, popularly known as Skippy Squadron, were regularly used to supplement the RAAF’s transport force, carrying reinforcements and equipment to-and-from Saigon. VH-EBI 'Winton' operated the first Australian troop charter to Tan Son Nhut Airport, Saigon, on 31 May 1965.
