Description

An Australian infantry man (left) from 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR), using his M7 bayonet to destroy excess rations during Operation Tamborine. At the completion of this operation, Australian casualties amounted to 18, including four killed. Most of these casualties including the deaths, were caused by friendly fire from 161 Battery, Royal New Zealand Artillery.
