Outdoor portrait of twin brothers, 407161 Flight Lieutenant Neil Thomson Badger (left) and 27727 Corporal David Lloyd Badger (right), both of whom enlisted in the RAAF in Adelaide, SA, respectively in July and September 1940. David became a fitter in several RAAF divisions while Neil flew as a pilot on Hudson and Beaufort bombers during which time he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for 'exceptional skill and courage on numerous sorties'. Neil served with 528 Squadron Headquarters North Western Area USAAF. He was lost on operations flying a Liberator bomber over Dutch New Guinea on 8 May 1944.
