Trooper Hicks (lying down) killed in action at Rafa January 9th 1917.” Probably 2647 Trooper Frederick Edward Hicks, 3rd Australian Light Horse machine Gun Squadron from Carnarvon, Western Australia who was killed in action on 9th January 1917.
