Description
Lapel badge of a YMCA War Services Auxiliary Member. The circular gilt and blue enamel badge contains a red enamel triangle overlaid with a white band containing the letters 'YMCA'. The words 'WAR SERVICES AUXILIARY MEMBER' appear around the circumference. On the reverse is a hinged pin clasp and the raised makers' details 'SCHLANK ADELAIDE'.
History / Summary
Lapel badge worn by an auxiliary member (i.e. woman) of the YMCA War Services during the Second World War. The badges were worn to meetings and during public activities, such as the sale of fund raising buttons and pins, which raised money for the war effort.
