Holster and belt : Leading Aircraftman K J Shipp, 9 Squadron RAAF
Description
Black leather pistol holster with magazine pouch and ammunition belt. The weapon is secured in the vinyl-lined leather holster by a leather strap fastened with a press stud. The belt has a metal buckle fastening and there are 24 leather loops sewn along the belt to hold ammunition.
History / Summary
Associated with the service of A44980 Leading Aircraftman Kerry John Shipp, born on 20 November 1948 in South Australia. Shipp served in Vietnam with 9 Squadron RAAF from 28 May 1969 to 30 April 1970. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal in December 1970.
