40 mm Bofors Mk 4 Dummy Cartridge & Projectile. The brass case is bottlenecked and rimmed. The projectile is made from steel and is painted black and has a red nose tip. Markings - 124486.
History / Summary
The 40 mm Bofors Mk 4 Cartridge is used in a variety of modern armoured fighting vehicles and ships. This cartridge has been used in a variety of Royal Australian Navy ship armaments since the Second World War. It is also compatible with ground mounted Bofors L60 anti aircraft guns which were used by the Australian Army from the Second World War.
