Studio portrait of 1024 Private (Pte) Thomas Solomon Cox from Richmond, Victoria. A shop assistant before the war, Pte Cox enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on the 11 March 1915 and embarked for active service with the 23rd Battalion on the 10 May 1915. On 28 July 1916, he was killed in action at Pozieres, France, aged 20.
