Studio portrait of NX17914 Corporal (Cpl) Isaac Phillip Southall of Darlinghurst, NSW. An electric furnaceman before the war, Cpl Southall served in the Middle East with the 2/13 Battalion. He died on 24 October 1942 from wounds sustained during the fighting for El Alamein, and is buried at El Alamein War Cemetery.
