An early view of the Kantara (Qantara) Control Centre, which was established by the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) on the east side of the Suez Canal after the Six Day War to observe and report breaches of the ceasefire between Egyptian and Israeli forces. The entrance to the building is protected by sandbags, and the black-and-white UN sign assists with identification.
