A photograph of an unidentified senior official from the United Nations Office of Peacekeeping (left) with Major Roy Skinner, an Australian United Nations Military Observer (UNMO), on the roof of the Kantara (Qantara) Control Centre. The Kantara Control Centre was established by the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) after the Six Day War to observe and report breaches of the ceasefire between Egyptian and Israeli forces. Under the command of Major Roy Skinner, Kantara was the headquarters for UNMOs on the east side of the Suez Canal. Seen clearly in the background is Kantara west.
