Pte, later Cpl John Robert Croom (QX3770) from Healesville, Victoria, was killed in action during the invasion of Syria on 8 June 1941, as was Cpl, later Sgt, John Scouler Kennedy (QX4874) from East Brisbane, who was killed on 11 June 1941, and S/Sgt Edgar George Jarvis Parry (QX4339) from Toowong, Queensland, killed on 18 June 1941. WX1998 Cpl, later acting Warrant Officer Class 2 Cecil John Bullingham from Carrington, Western Australia, was killed in action on the Kokoda Track on 11 November 1942, as was Cpl, later S/Sgt Frederick Karl Techow (WX428) of Krugesdorp, South Australia, and Pte, later Cpl Charles Gaydon Ellen (QX5518) of Wiltshire, England, who were both killed on 22 November 1942. Pte, later Lance Corporal Raymond Elwin Davies (TX32) of Hobart, Tasmania who died of disease on the 22 November 1942, as did CSM, later Capt Sydney McKenzie (QX6535) of Killara, New South Wales, who died of disease on 27 January 1946.
