Six Chinese and three New Zealand soldiers on a hill previously held by the Chinese, the day after the ceasefire. 2400799 Private (Pte) Bruce Grattan Horgan, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), had commenced climbing the former enemy hill when Chinese soldiers approached him. After shaking hands and receiving cigarettes the Chinese posed for photographs with Horgan and three New Zealander soldiers who had followed Pte Horgan onto the hill.
