Segregated scrap fights again!
Description
British Second World War poster encouraging the recycling of scrap metal for re-use as aeroplanes. The title, printed in blue ink, surrounds an image of a British Supermarine Spitfire flying past a group of five scrap metal containers, labelled with 'group' numbers. The message of the poster, 'MIXED SCRAP IS WASTED METAL' is printed below the image in red ink. During the Second World War, an acute shortage of goods, due to disruptions in North Atlantic trade routes by German U-Boats, meant that recycling was a major concern.
