Pair of black Oliver leather boots : Royal Australian Navy, Operation Catalyst
Pair of used Oliver brand black leather rubber soled elastic sided slip on boots. Size 11 1/2 is imprinted on the inside of the arch of both boots along with 'HEAT & OIL RESISTANT / BALLARAT AUSTRALIA'. The sides of the boots have a thin layer of strong foam rubber with the manufacters name stamped into the outer rear surface. There is evidence of wear with the nose caps of both boots being worn and scuffed. The top of each boot has a black and gold nylon tab in front and behind the opening.
These boots do not have any known connection to a particular Australian serviceman or woman. The boxin which these boots were contained was marked in small black ink 'Hill'. The boots are known to have been worn by a member of the Royal Australian Navy during Operation Catalyst, circa 2005 to 2006.
