Hand coloured studio portrait of VX41039 Private (Pte) Henry Leonard Salter of Ballarat, Vic. Enlisting in July 1940, Pte Salter served in the Pacific with the 2/14 Battalion. He was killed in action near Isurava on the Kokoda Track on 20 August 1942, age 26.
