Description
Four soldiers, probably a patrol from A Company, 4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (4RAR), wating for a British helicopter to land at a landing zone (LZ) in a creek bed and pick them up. A Company 4RAR were based at Gumbang between April and September 1966. This was the most southerly of the 4RAR company positions and was located on a ridge line close to the Sarawak-Kalimantan border and a major Indonesian infiltration route.
