Description
An unidentified soldier from A Company, the 4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (4RAR) armed with an M16 rifle is climbing "up the hill" to the company position at Gumbang. The company base at Gumbang occupied by A Company, the 4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (4RAR) between April and September 1966. This was the most southerly of the 4RAR company positions and was located on a ridge line close to the Sarawak-Kalimantan border and a major Indonesian infiltration route.
