Description

Group portrait of twenty four officers in Boer War era uniforms, some holding swagger sticks. Many of the officers wear white hat bands, indicating their position in instructional squads. From service, hat and collar badges it can be determined that men from the 12th (Byron) Infantry and Service Corps, Queensland Scottish, are in this image. Image from the collection of Major Charles Gehrmann, who served in the Boer War with the 5th Queensland Imperial Bushmen 1901-1902; with the 9th Australian Infantry Regiment (the Moreton Regiment) 1910-1921, and a Major in AIF camps in Brisbane during the First World War.
