A Commonwealth War Graves headstone markes the grave of 401452 Sergeant (Sgt) Mervyn Wilfred Marshall of Malvern, Vic, at the Christianborg War Cemetery, Accra, Ghana. Enlisting in the RAAF as part of the Empire Air Tranining Scheme in February 1941, Sgt Marshall flew Spitfire fighters with 234 Squadron, RAF. Sgt Marshall was killed whilst on a patrol over the Gold Coast of West Africa on 13 November 1942, age 22.
