Studio portrait of 2255 Private Thomas Alfred Pemberton, 60th Battalion, of Fitzroy, Victoria. Prior to enlistment on 4 March, 1915, Private Pemberton worked as a wool storeman. He embarked on 17 June 1915 aboard the HMAT Wandilla (A62) from Melbourne, Victoria. He was killed in action on 19 July 1916 at the Battle of Fromelles. He has no known grave and is memorialised at V C Corner Australian Cemetery, France. He left behind a wife and six children
