Studio portrait of 878 Trooper (Tpr) Edwin Thomas Lewis, 10th Light Horse Regiment, of Maylands, WA. A pre-war member of the 37th Battery Australian Field Artillery (CMF) and a coach builder before enlisting in January 1915, Tpr Lewis left Australia for Egypt with the 4th Reinforcements in April 1915. He was killed in action at Quinns Post, Gallipoli, on 1 June 1915, age 20.
