Portrait of 22213 Sick Berth Attendant (SBA) John Robert Payne who enlisted in the RAN on 14 June 1938. SBA Payne was killed in action, aged 23, when HMAS Sydney II was sunk in the Indian Ocean by the German auxiliary cruiser Kormoran on 20 November 1941.
