Studio portrait of 2969 Private (Pte) James Clarence McAulay, 5th Field Ambulance, of Woonona, NSW,( originally of Maclean, NSW). A school teacher prior to enlistment, Pte McAulay embarked with B Section from Sydney on HMAT Ajana on 31 May 1915. He was killed in action on at Gallipoli on 27 August 1915, aged 22.
