Studio portrait of 2365 Private (Pte) Alfred Douglas Erwin, 18th Battalion, of Drummoyne, NSW. Pte Erwin was a wireworker prior to enlistment on 31 July 1915. He embarked with the 5th Reinforcements from Sydney on HMAT Themistocles on 5 October 1915. He was killed in action in France on 5 August 1916.
