Informal outdoor portrait of 405495 Aircraftman (later Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt)) Graham Charles Nichols, RAAF, No 1 Operational Training Unit (1 OTU), and an undientifed young man. Prior to enlistment on 31 March, 1941, Flight Sergeant Nichols was employed as a motor mechanic at Coloundra, Queensland. He was accidentally killed at sea on 28 April 1943 off King Island, Tasmania; he was aged 21.
